DEN to ORD to IND
I have been a frequent flyer for some time. For the most part, I have the airline companies figured out and give them the benefit of the doubt. But today, United Airlines confused me. I got to the airport early today. Flying stand by is nothing new to me. When I checked in at the counter, I asked the agent if I could be put on standby. She said no problem. My original schedule was a connection through ORD. I told her there was a direct flight in 1 hour. She said she could not put me on stand by for that flight because that was a different route than my original schedule. I said this will actually save your airline money. She said rules are rules. I just don't understand why I can't be on stand by for a flight if it gets me to the same end. Silly rules United
